Volunteers Needed For Nassau County Department Of Health Public Health Emergency Preparedness Drill

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that the Nassau County Department of Health is seeking volunteers to take part in a public health emergency preparedness Point of Dispensing (POD) exercise on Wednesday, April 22nd. The mission of this exercise is to test the Department’s operational plans for mass distribution of medications during a public health emergency. This exercise also seeks to familiarize the public with a POD and the important role of public health emergency preparedness in protecting the public from events such as a large-scale disease outbreak or bioterrorism attack.
