Legislator Ferretti Congratulates Recipients at the Kumon Math and Reading Center Awards Ceremony

Kumon Learning Center of LevittownLegislator John R. Ferretti, Jr. was privileged to be the keynote speaker at the Kumon Learning Center of Levittown Awards on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Awards were given in many categories honoring students’ academic achievement in both the math and reading comprehension program. Legislator Ferretti said “I am so proud of all my young constituents!”

 

Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program that helps give its students stronger independence and concentration, greater confidence and improved math and reading comprehension skills.

Temple Emanu-El Day of Community Service a Success

Temple Emanu-El of East MeadowNassau County Legislator John R. Ferretti, Jr. was happy to join with other local political leaders to participate in the “Day of Community Service” event on Sunday, April 29th at Temple Emanu-El of East Meadow. Throughout the day, East Meadow residents of all ages participated in many activities to benefit local charities and local residents and were able to experience the value of volunteerism.

Legislator Ferretti Participates in Earth Day Clean Up

Nassau County Legislator John R. Ferretti, Jr. was happy to join the Town of Hempstead and the Levittown Community Council to participate in an Earth Day Clean-Up in Levittown on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

 

The Levittown Community Council sponsored the clean-up from 1pm-4pm. All met at Veterans Memorial Park on Hempstead Tpke. and Shelter Lane, in front of the Levittown Public Library and got busy. Thank you to all who participated!

NUMC Mammography Van Coming to Levittown

Legislator John R. Ferretti, Jr. is sponsoring the Nassau University Medical Center Mobile Mammography Van to visit our neighborhood to provide breast cancer screenings for women over age forty. The screening will include a breast examination by a nurse, a mammography and instructions for breast self-examination at home.

 

If it’s been at least a year since your last mammography and you are planning to receive an exam, you will need a prescription for the exam from your doctor (if you have health insurance) and must provide any past exam films, if they are available. Women with health insurance will be required to make a co-payment. The mammography is free for uninsured women, based on eligibility guidelines.

free tax preparationOn Saturday, March 31, 2018, Nassau County Legislator John R. Ferretti, Jr. sponsored a free tax preparation help event along with Bethpage Federal Credit Union at the Levittown Library to help residents file their 2017 taxes.

 

“I would like to thank Bethpage Federal Credit Union for helping me to help our community with filing taxes this year” said Legislator Ferretti.
