North Hempstead Town Councilwoman
First elected in November 2011, and re-elected in November 2015, Councilwoman Dina M. De Giorgio represents the 6th Council District of the Town of North Hempstead. This area comprises Port Washington, including the villages of Baxter Estates, Manorhaven, Port Washington North, and Sands Point. It also includes the villages of Flower Hill, Plandome, Plandome Heights, and Plandome Manor.
The Councilwoman has been a resident of the Town of North Hempstead for 15 years. She and her husband, Joe D’Alonzo, have two children.
She graduated from Fordham University, Rose Hill Campus, Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Psychology in 1989 and graduated Fordham University Law School in 1992 and was admitted to the Bar in 1993. In 1995, Dina established her law practice. She has dedicated the last 16 years to raising her family while also developing her law practice. From 1996 through 1999 she served as adjunct professor of law at the New York Institute of Technology.
A successful, enthusiastic and motivated professional with 16 years experience in the practice of law, she is a well-respected and active member of the community with documented positive results from participation in school and civic projects. Dina is a resourceful, ethical and creative team player with proven problem-solving capabilities and genuine compassion for others. She has a thriving law practice in Port Washington specializing in Family Law and Real Estate. Dina is a member of the Legal Resource Network where she serves as a pro bono attorney for the Nassau County Coalition against Domestic Violence. In connection with this work she was featured in an article on the New York State Bar Association website in December 2010.
Dina is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association.
