Imbroto Announces Free Musical Performances at Bethpage Jericho Locust Valley Libraries this October

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Louis Imbroto announced that the Distinguished Artists Concert Series will host multiple performances throughout the month of October 2018 at local libraries throughout the Town.

 

“The Distinguished Artists Concert Series provides free musical and dance programs for the enjoyment of our residents,” said Councilman Imbroto. “I encourage residents to take advantage of these wonderful performances offered by the Town for free at local libraries.”

 

Scheduled performances for October include:

  • Mambo Loco on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Locust Valley Library – playing the best of old-school Latin and Latin jazz.
  • Something Special Big Band on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Bethpage Library – one of the finest nostalgia/jazz swing bands in the New York-Long Island area.
  • The Hambones on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Jericho Library – a well-crafted mix of classic country/rockability and blues from the 50’s to today.
  • The Guthrie Brothers Scarborough Fair on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Locust Valley Library – a note-for-note performance of Simon & Garfunkel’s best-known songs presented with history and humor.

Muscarella Announces Free Distinguished Artists Performances at Libraries this Spring

Cold Spring Harbor Band, Greater Nassau Chorus, and Naomi Zeitlin Highlight Upcoming Slate

 

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Joseph Muscarella announced that the Distinguished Artists Concert Series will host multiple performances throughout the months of April and May 2018 at local libraries throughout the Town.

 

“The Distinguished Artists Concert Series provides free musical and dance programs for the enjoyment of our residents,” said Councilman Joseph Muscarella. “I encourage residents to take advantage of these wonderful performances offered by the Town for free at local libraries.”

 

Scheduled performances for April and May include:

 

  • Glenn Crytzer’s All Stars on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:30 pm at the Farmingdale Public Library
  • Vinny St. Marten and the Seeing Eye Dog Band on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Jericho Public Library
  • Cold Spring Harbor Band on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Hicksville Public Library
  • Greater Nassau Chorus on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 8:00 pm at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library
  • Four-Hand Band (Alexander Wu & Sasha Papernick) on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Bethpage Public Library
  • Patti Dunham & Gary Haberman on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Hicksville Public Library

Oyster Bay Town Announces Free Musical Performances at Local Libraries in December

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that the Distinguished Artists Concert Series returns in December with two upcoming performances, offering residents free musical performances at local libraries during the holiday season.

 

“I’m proud to provide residents with the very finest cultural and performing arts entertainment, all free of charge and held conveniently at local libraries throughout the Town,” said Supervisor Saladino. “This season offers a diverse selection of musical and dance programs, ranging from opera to pop, jazz to classical, and everything in between.”

 

The scheduled performances for December include:

  • Vito Lombardo, Italian-American Vocalist, will perform on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Syosset Public Library.
  • Simply Diamond, a Tribute to Neil Diamond, will perform on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Syosset Public Library.

Councilman Pinto Announces 2017 Distinguished Artists Concert Performances for March

The Town of Oyster Bay 2017  rolls into March with several enjoyable performances scheduled to take place at various libraries throughout the Town, according to Oyster Bay Town Councilman Joseph G. Pinto.

 

“The enjoyable and diverse performances featured at each of the Town’s Distinguished Artists concerts have delighted residents throughout the years and continue to return each year thanks to popular demand,” Councilman Pinto stated. “Admission to each performance is free, allowing easy access for residents to experience some of the finest cultural and performing arts entertainment available within the comfort of various local libraries.”

 

Councilman Pinto noted that there are five performances scheduled for March:

 

  • On Sunday, March 5, at 1:00 p.m. there will be a performance by the Sweet Adelines International Barbershop Harmony Organization; the Greater Nassau Chorus who will perform at the Massapequa Public Library, 40 Harbor Lane, Massapequa.
  • On Saturday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m., vocal group The Fabulaires will perform “Doo Wop at its Best!” which will be held at the Syosset Public Library, 225 South Oyster Bay Road, Syosset.
  • On Sunday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m., Irish folk music band Fiddler’s Green will perform a “Concert of Traditional Irish Songs” which will be held at the Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Ave, Bethpage.
  • On Sunday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m., singer Liora Michelle will perform “Verdi & Puccini Heroines – Great Arias of Passion & Delight,” which will be held at the Locust Valley Public Library, 170 Buckram Road, Locust Valley.
  • On Sunday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m., Tom Petty tribute band Breakdown will perform the music of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers at the Hicksville Public Library, 169 Jerusalem Ave, Hicksville.

Oyster Bay Town Distinguished Artists Concert Performances for January

The Town of Oyster Bay 2017 Distinguished Artists Concert series kicks off the new year this January with more fantastic performances scheduled at various libraries throughout the Town according to Councilman Joseph G. Pinto.

 

“The diverse arrangement of culture and talent featured in each performance has made the Distinguished Artists concert series one of the most popular programs offered by the Town of Oyster Bay,” Councilman Pinto stated. “Each concert is free of charge and provides residents with the opportunity to witness some of the finest cultural and performing arts entertainment at various local libraries.”

 

Councilman Pinto noted that there are five performances scheduled for January:

 

  • January 8, at 2:00 p.m.: There will be a performance by the band Rave On, who will perform the music of Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and other rock legends at the Jericho Public Library, 1 Merry Lane, Jericho. All are welcome to attend but this performance requires a ticket. To receive a ticket, please call the Jericho Public Library at 516-935-6790, ext. 19.
  • Saturday, January 14, at 8:00 p.m.: Alexander Wu & the Serendip Piano Trio will perform “The JFK Whitehouse Concerts 1961-1963” at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, 999 Old Country Road, Plainview.
  • Sunday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m.: Musician Dave Ruch will perform traditional and historical songs of New York State at the Massapequa Public Library, 40 Harbor Lane, Massapequa.
  • Sunday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m.: Singer Micheal Castaldo will perform “From Italy with Love-Classical Crossover Tenor” at the Syosset Public Library, 225 South Oyster Bay Road, Syosset.
  • Sunday, January 29, at 2:00 p.m.: Residents are invited to see Just Sixties-The Stories! The Songs! A music and retrospective narrative of the 60’s era that will be held at the Locust Valley Library, 170 Buckram Road, Locust Valley.

Councilwoman Johnson Announces Town’s ‘Distinguished Artists’ Concerts for December

The Town of Oyster Bay 2015-2016 Distinguished Artists Concert series continues in December with a number of performances at various libraries throughout the Town, Councilwoman Michele M. Johnson announced.

 

“One of the Town’s most popular programs, the ‘Distinguished Artist’ Concert Series runs now through May 2016 and features performances by a diverse collection of musical acts and dance programs,” Councilwoman Johnson stated. “These concerts, all free of charge, help illustrate how truly diverse the interests of our residents here in the Town are, and these concerts provide them with the finest cultural and performing arts entertainment in the comfort and convenience of their local library.”

 

Councilwoman Johnson noted that for the month of December, there will be four performances:

 

  • On Saturday, December 5, at 8:00 p.m. at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library located at 999 Old Country Road in Plainview, residents are invited to a performance from “Breakdown”, a tribute to the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
  • On Sunday, December 6, at 2:00 p.m., Masterwork Conversations will delight those in attendance with “The Magic of Folklore”, a classical piano program held at the Bethpage Public Library, located at 47 Powell Avenue in Bethpage.
  •  On Sunday, December 13, at 2:30 p.m., residents will get to enjoy music and representation of the 1960’s era with “Just Sixties: The Stories…The Songs!” at the Farmingdale Public Library, located at 116 Merritts Road, in Farmingdale.
  • On Saturday, December 19, at 7:30 p.m., vocalist Jimmy Moore will play his “Holiday Show” featuring a delightful variety of classic holiday and popular winter songs at the Syosset Public Library, located at 225 South Oyster Bay Road, in Syosset.

Town of Oyster Bay Announces March ‘Distinguished Artists’ Concerts

The Town of Oyster Bay 2013-2014 Distinguished Artists Concert series continues in March with a number of performances at various libraries throughout the Town, Councilman Chris Coschignano announced.

 

“The Distinguished Artists Concert series has proven time and again to be one of the Town’s most popular programs. Performances run through May 2014 and feature a diverse collection of musical acts and dance programs,” Councilman Coschignano stated. “These concerts, all free of charge, help illustrate how truly varied the interests of our residents here in the Town are, and these concerts provide them with the finest cultural and performing arts entertainment in the comfort and convenience of their local library.”

 

Councilman Coschignano noted that for the month of March, six performances are scheduled:

 

-On Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jericho Public Library, located at 1 Merry Lane in Jericho, residents are invited to ‘The Irish Show,’ a delightful performance of popular Irish songs by musician Jimmy Moore.

 

-On Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m., at the Hicksville Public Library, located at 169 Jerusalem Ave, in Hicksville, residents will have the chance to enjoy a salute to legendary divas, in a performance entitled ‘Sister Act”.

 

-On Saturday, March 15, at 8:00 p.m., The Long Island Brass Guild will perform American Music in a performance titled “From Rags to Renaissance” at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, located at 999 Old Country Road, Plainview.

 

-On Sunday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m., classical pianist, Vladmir Zaitsev will perform popular classic and pop arrangements in a concert titled “From Baroque to Beatles”. This performance will take place at the Farmingdale Public Library, located at 116 Merritts Rd, in Farmingdale.

 

-On Sunday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m., Banjo Rascals will perform a variety show of songs ranging from Scott Rags to the contemporary music of Van Morrison at the Bethpage Library located on 47 Powell Ave, Bethpage.

 

-On Sunday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m., Mambo Loco will bring their unique Latin music sound to the Jericho Public Library, located at 1 Merry Lane, in Jericho.

 

Councilman Coschignano noted that for the performances that take place at the Jericho Public Library, residents should call ahead to acquire free tickets for the concerts, due to the limited seating of the venue. This applies to the March 2nd performance of ‘The Irish Show’ and the March 30th performance of Mambo Loco. The Jericho Public Library can be reached at 516-935-6790.

  • On Sunday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m., at the Locust Valley Public Library, located at 170 Buckram Road, in Locust Valley, residents will have the chance to enjoy Les Trois Femmes, in a performance entitled ‘Affairs of the Heart.’
  • On Saturday, February 15, at 7:30 p.m., Sheri Miller will perform pop, southern soul, gospel, and modern rock with a mix of classics and originals at the Syosset Public Library, located at 225 South Oyster Bay Road, in Syosset.
  • On Sunday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m., the Fabulaires bring residents ‘doo wop at its best!’ This performance will take place at the Hicksville Public Library, located at 169 Jerusalem Avenue, in Hicksville.
  • On Sunday, February 23, at 2:00 p.m., the Isotope Stompers will bring their unique Dixieland jazz sound to the Jericho Public Library, located at 1 Merry Lane, in Jericho.

-On Sunday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m., the Home Grown String Band will delight families with acoustic country music and Appalachian flatfoot dancing at the Bethpage Public Library, located at 47 Powell Avenue in Bethpage.

 

-On Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m., Beatles fans will get to spend an evening reliving the music and stories that defined a generation with the performance of ‘In My Life: The John Lennon Tribute,’ which will take place at the Hicksville Public Library, located at 169 Jerusalem Avenue in Hicksville.

 

-On Sunday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m., the Cold Spring Harbor Band present ‘A Tribute to the Music of Billy Joel,’ which will feature a musical journey through the songs of Billy Joel’s first album, accompanied by a photo slide show. This performance will take place at the Farmingdale Public Library, located at 116 Merritts Road in Farmingdale.
