Councilwoman Alesia Selected to Participate in Molloy College’s Energeia Partnership

Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Rebecca M. Alesia has been selected to participate in Molloy College’s Energeia Partnership, a leadership academy that brings together a diverse group of ethical leaders from Long Island’s public, private and not-for-profit sectors. The purpose of the partnership is to help address the region’s most complex issues: education; institutional racism; poverty and the working poor; land use; energy; transportation; healthcare; and media relations.

“It is truly an honor to be selected to participate in such a prestigious, cutting-edge and innovative program,” Councilwoman Alesia said. “I consider the Energeia Partnership a catalyst for positive change and look forward to joining with my colleagues in developing solutions toward some of the most serious multi-dimensional challenges facing Long Island.” Also known as the Academy for Regional Stewardship at Molloy College, Energeia is committed to educating leaders for the benefit of all people who live and work on Long Island. Each year, the program assembles a “class” of no more than 50 ethical, proven leaders that participate in a dynamic, two-year academy featuring a series of one-day programs, each focusing on a particular issue.

Participants in the Energeia Partnership will focus on achieving excellence in empowering the Long Island region with leaders able and willing to serve as trustees; leaders who act with integrity on behalf of the common good. Participants will add their own unique perspectives to the group and collectively learn about different strategies to accomplish the region’s goals of bettering Long Island for generations to come.
